Day 1: ~Compare and contrast expectations and of regular and digital classroom with discussion and projector ~Use teacher’s computer and projector to show classroom wiki and introduce Expectations and Etiquette of Our Digital Classroom page with discussion, as well as compare and contrast with our regular class expectations ~Show students what Kidblog.org looks like on web, view “Blogs In Plain English,” and distribute Kidblog.org logins and passwords ~Model login procedures for Kidblog.org and where/how to compose and save first blog (+) give students web address for Ms. Anderson’s Kidblog and inform students patience will be needed while we work out any issues during our first experience ~Move to computer lab, guide class through login, and students work on Characters and Predictions blog for The Boy in the Striped Pajamas Day 2: ~Brief discussion about students’ reactions to their first experience with our Digital Classroom, compare and contrast working traditionally with paper and pencil ~Use teacher’s computer and projector to model how to navigate the Ms. Anderson and Her Sprouts Wiki and how to use The Boy in the Striped Pajamas page on the wiki to link to Kidblog.org ~View “Wikis in Plain English,” and distribute logins and passwords ~Review Expectations and Etiquette of Our Digital Classroom page on class wiki and share evaluation rubric for Characters and Predictions blog ~Move to computer lab, guide students through completing, editing, and saving changes to their blog

Enrichment
~Students who have had previous blogging experience and finish earlier than others may compose and submit for approval a blog post of their own for our novel unit to receive posts from their classmates, or use Microsoft Word to compose and submit for approval an addition to our Book Recommendation page on our wiki (they should include an idea for a hyperlink to the web to read more about the book) *After approval, only one student can edit class wiki at a time
